Midway, GA – Two Killed in Fatal Rollover Accident on I-95
Midway, GA (December 20, 2021) – Around 10 a.m. on Monday morning, December 20, a fatal rollover accident occurred on a highway in Midway.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-95 around the area of mile marker 79. A vehicle was traveling north in the area when the driver suddenly lost control, causing the vehicle to crash. The vehicle immediately flipped over, which led to extensive damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Two people inside the vehicle were thrown out onto the road and were pronounced dead at the scene. Six other people were injured and taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.
Three small dogs were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. One was killed at the scene and the others were taken to animal hospitals.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
