Marietta, GA – One Killed in Fatal Apartment Fire on Roswell Rd

Marietta, GA (February 13, 2023) – One person was killed in a fatal apartment fire that took place in Marietta on Monday morning, February 13.

According to Marietta fire personnel, the fire broke out around 10:50 a.m. on Roswell Road in the three-story apartment building at the Hamptons. Crews arrived at the gated community, where they discovered that heavy fire engulfed the apartment complex and was coming up through the roof of multiple homes. Fire crews attempted to get inside the complex as quickly as possible.

Paramedics and several fire crews were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. When fire crews were able to gain entrance into the building, they found one resident inside their unit. The party, who has not yet been formally identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. A total of 39 residents were displaced from their homes, but none of the parties sustained injuries.

The area was blocked off for several hours following the fire. A total of 29 apartment units were damaged due to the fire.

No further details on the circumstances of the incident have been released. The investigation into the fire remains ongoing.
