Marietta, GA – Motorcycle Crash at Powder Springs Rd & Kimberly Dr
Marietta, GA (July 22, 2021) – At 4:20 p.m. on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 21, a motorcycle crash occurred at an intersection in Marietta.
According to Cobb County Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Powder Springs Road and Kimberly Drive. A man was driving drunk in the area with his Ram pickup truck when he crossed over the center lane and collided with a man on a Yamaha. The driver of the truck continued onward but stopped about a mile down the road.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, identified as a 49-year-old man, was injured and hospitalized.
The driver of the Ram, identified as a 45-year-old man, was arrested on charges of failing to maintain his lane, DUI, hit-and-run, and more.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
