Marietta, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on I-75
Marietta, GA (June 30, 2021) – On Wednesday morning, June 30, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on a highway in Marietta.
According to police, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-75 around the area of the North Marietta Parkway and Allgood Road. A 26-year-old man was walking across the street when he was suddenly struck by a northbound Freightliner.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of traumatic injuries.
The driver of the truck that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene. She has been identified as a 53-year-old woman from Cartersville. She has not yet been charged for his death.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
