Marietta, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on I-75
Marietta, GA (January 8, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on a highway in Marietta on Saturday morning, January 8. According to Marietta Police, the accident happened around 3:38 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-75 around the area of the Marietta Parkway. A pedestrian was traveling along the northbound lanes of traffic when he was suddenly struck by a 63-year-old driver in a Toyota Tundra. It is believed that the driver of the Toyota remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene of the crash to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has been identified only as a Hispanic man in his 20s or 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. It is not known if anyone else was injured in the accident.
Due to the severity of the collision, the northbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
