Marietta, GA – Fatal Scooter Crash at Ernest W Barrett Pkwy & Macland Rd
Marietta, GA (June 7, 2021) – At 9:51 a.m. on Sunday, June 6, a fatal scooter crash took place at an intersection in Marietta.
According to authorities, the accident happened at the intersection of Ernest W. Barrett Parkway and Macland Road. At the time, a 32-year-old man was driving a motorized scooter headed south when he went through the intersection. His vehicle collided with a Volkswagen Tiguan, which then ran into a Toyota Corolla. The driver of the scooter was immediately ejected.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The driver of the scooter was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Volkswagen, a passenger in the Volkswagen, and the Toyota driver were all taken to local hospitals for treatment of minor injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
