Marietta, GA – Fatal Pedestrian Crash at Dallas Hwy & Barrett Pkwy
Marietta, GA (August 2, 2021) – Around 1:40 a.m. on the morning of Monday, August 2, a fatal pedestrian crash took place in Marietta.
According to Cobb County Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Dallas Highway and Barrett Parkway. A 56-year-old man from Acworth was in his wheelchair near the crosswalk at the intersection when he was struck by a Ford Fusion traveling east.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries.
The 46-year-old driver of the Fusion remained at the scene. It is not known if any charges have been announced.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
