Marietta, GA – Car Crash with Injuries at Sandtown Rd & Davis Circle
Marietta, GA (November 22, 2021) – Around 6:10 a.m. on Sunday, November 21, a serious car crash with injuries occurred at an intersection in Marietta.
According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Sandtown Road and Davis Circle. A 21-year-old driver was in a Chevrolet Silverado and attempting to make a turn at the parking lot on Sandtown Road. The driver started to turn, causing them to collide with a Chevrolet Silverado operated by a 53-year-old man. This caused the vehicle to be pushed back into a Chrysler Sebring being operated by a 55-year-old man.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help. The 53-year-old Silverado driver sustained severe injuries. He was rushed to WellStar Kennestone Hospital for treatment, though his current condition is not yet known.
The 21-year-old driver remained on the scene and was arrested by police. They have since been charged with driving on a suspended license, driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to yield while turning left, and more.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
