Marietta, GA – Car Accident Causes Injuries on I-75 NB at Canton Rd
Marietta, GA (June 17, 2021) – Officers say that around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, June 17, a car accident resulted in injuries and major backups on a busy highway in Marietta.
Cobb County officials reported the accident in the early afternoon and noted that it took place in the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 around the Canton Road exit ramp. Several vehicles, including two passenger cars and a pickup truck, were involved, and multiple cars were photographed pulled to the side of the highway.
Paramedics and Marietta Fire were dispatched to the scene of the accident. The injured victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to the hospital for treatment, and at least one other individual appeared to be treated at the scene.
Several lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for some time while officers worked to clear the scene and investigate. However, the investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues, and the victims’ current conditions and identities have not been released.
