Macon, GA – Woman Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Pio Nono Ave
Macon, GA (January 23, 2023) – Around 7 p.m. on the night of Friday, January 20, a woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Macon.
According to Bibb County officials, the accident happened on Pio Nono Avenue near the area of Harris Road. Police confirmed that a female pedestrian was walking on the street and attempting to cross the roadway near the intersection when she was suddenly struck by an Infinity G25X. The driver of the Infinity remained at the scene following the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has since been identified as a 40-year-old woman, was tragically pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital for treatment. The driver of the Infinity, identified as a 46-year-old man, was not hurt in the accident.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident until police cleared the scene. This led to delays in the area for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
