Macon, GA – Woman Killed in Forklift Accident at Warehouse on Mead Rd
Macon, GA (June 28, 2021) – At 9:43 a.m. on Monday morning, June 28, a woman was killed in a fatal forklift accident at a warehouse in Macon.
According to Macon-Bibb County officials, the accident happened at Gilmer Warehouse and Logistics at 4815 Mead Road near the area of Graphic Packaging International. Police confirmed that they received a call that a woman was checking papers when a forklift driver did not see her, striking her. She was allegedly pinned by the vehicle and went into cardiac arrest due to severe injuries.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help the injured woman. She was initially conscious when EMS crews arrived at the scene. However, when she was rushed to a local medical center, she was pronounced dead there around 11 a.m.
Police have since identified the victim as a 56-year-old woman from Reynolds.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
