Macon, GA – Woman Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on I-75
Macon, GA (April 20, 2021) – Around 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning, April 20, a woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on a highway in Macon.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred in the southbound lanes of I-75 near Hartley Bridge Road. A female pedestrian was walking north when she started to cross the roadway. She was struck by a tractor-trailer that was headed through the area.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The 46-year-old pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for a period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
