7/11 Atlanta, GA – Rear-End Collision on I-85 Near Clairmont Rd

Macon, GA (August 26, 2021) – At 4:50 p.m. on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 25, a rear-end accident occurred in Macon.

According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened on Bass Road around the area of I-75. One driver was traveling in a Mercury Grand Marquis in the area. The driver rear-ended a Ford Explorer cruiser. The cruiser was pushed forward into a Jeep. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene. One person was injured as a result of the accident. The injured victim, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital with injuries.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene. This led to delays in the area.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
