Macon, GA – Tractor-Trailer Collision Leads to Injuries on I-16
Macon, GA (December 14, 2021) – At 10:49 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14, a tractor-trailer collision with injuries occurred in Macon.
According to Bibb County officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-16 around the area of mile marker 7. A passenger vehicle was traveling in the area when it suddenly collided with a tractor-trailer that was stopped in traffic due to reasons that are not yet known. A total of three other vehicles became involved in the accident. They were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One person, who has not yet been identified, was seriously injured in the accident. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
