Macon, GA – Teen Killed in Fatal Car Accident on Ayers Rd
Macon, GA (December 27, 2021) – At 8:45 p.m. on the night of Saturday, December 25, a woman was killed in a fatal car accident in Macon.
According to Bibb County officials, the accident happened on Ayers Road around the area of Troon Way. Police confirmed that a 16-year-old girl was traveling west on the roadway when her vehicle was struck by an SUV that was traveling east. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The 16-year-old girl was severely injured as a result of the collision. She was rushed to Piedmont Macon Medical Center where she was pronounced dead due to her traumatic injuries. The driver of the SUV sustained injuries but is expected to recover.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
