Macon, GA – Seven-Vehicle Collision with Injuries at GA-247 & Pio Nono Ave
Macon, GA (April 21, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a severe seven-vehicle collision that took place at an intersection in Macon on Thursday morning, April 21.
According to Macon officials, the accident happened around 9 a.m. at the intersection of GA-247 and Pio Nono Avenue. Seven vehicles became involved in a chain-reaction collision at the intersection due to reasons that are not yet known. It is believed that one or more vehicles may have been following others too closely. The vehicles sustained heavy damage and were spread out all over the street at the intersection.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A total of two people suffered from injuries in the collision. The unidentified parties were taken to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for two hours following the collision as police worked to clear the scene.
