Macon, GA – Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on GA 224 at Shiloh Church Rd
Macon, GA (October 11, 2021) – Early on Sunday morning, October 10, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred in the Macon area.
Officers say that a man is dead after being struck by a car in Macon County. Georgia State Patrol troopers say that, around 12:50 a.m. a Chevrolet Malibu hit a pedestrian while headed westbound on Highway 224 near Shiloh Church Road.
According to officers, the pedestrian, identified only as a 23-year-old man from Montezuma, crossed from the north shoulder of the street as the Malibu driver approached.
The driver hit the man as he crossed. EMS performed life-saving measures at the scene, but the victim died from his injuries.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing, though officers do not anticipate charges or citations for the driver.
