Macon, GA – Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Log Cabin Dr
Macon, GA (September 26, 2021) – At 3:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, September 26, a man was killed in a fatal hit-and-run motorcycle accident in Macon.
According to Bibb County deputies, the accident happened on Log Cabin Drive around the area of Lafayette Drive. A 45-year-old man was driving a Yamaha motorcycle headed south in the area and attempted to make a turn. A Chrysler passenger vehicle was making a turn at the same time and struck the motorcycle. The driver then fled the scene before police could arrive.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist was traumatically injured in the crash. The victim was transported to Atrium Health hospital where he was pronounced dead due to his injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident remains ongoing at this time.
