Macon, GA – Lewis Moore Killed in Fatal Car Crash on Emery Hwy
Macon, GA (September 27, 2022) – Around 9 p.m. on Monday, September 26, a man was killed in a fatal car accident on a highway in Macon.
According to Bibb County officials, the accident happened on Emery Highway around the area of Fort Hill Street. Police confirmed that the accident involved a Pontiac G8 that was waiting to make a left turn. The vehicle entered the intersection at the same time as a Chevrolet Cruze, causing them to collide with one another. The vehicles sustained severe damage in the accident.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the Chevrolet, who was identified as 72-year-old Lewis Moore, was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead while there. The driver of the Pontiac was hospitalized but is in stable condition.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
