Macon, GA – Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Cherry St
Macon, GA (June 6, 2022) – On Friday night, June 3, a hit-and-run pedestrian accident took place near an intersection in Macon that led to injuries.
According to Bibb County deputies, the accident happened around 11:30 p.m. on Cherry Street around the area of MLK Jr. Boulevard. A pedestrian was walking in the area when they were suddenly struck by a vehicle that was traveling in the area. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without stopping.
Paramedics and several other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was rushed to the hospital with abrasions and other minor injuries. They are expected to make a full recovery.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for a period of time. Police did not say if they found the driver responsible for the accident. However, it is believed that the driver was in a gray Dodge Charger.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident at this time.
