Macon, GA – Fatal Logging Truck Accident at Broadway & Raines Ave
Macon, GA (September 3, 2021) – At 9 a.m. on Friday morning, September 3, a fatal logging truck accident occurred at a Macon intersection.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at the intersection of Broadway and Raines Avenue. A Jeep was going south on Broadway when it collided with a logging truck due to reasons that are still being investigated. Multiple logs fell off the back of the truck and went through the windshield of the Jeep.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the Jeep, identified as a 24-year-old woman from Monticello, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the logging truck was not injured but remained at the scene.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time as police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
