Lithonia, GA – One Killed in Fatal House Fire on Berryside Dr
Lithonia, GA (July 21, 2021) – At 5:20 a.m. on Wednesday morning, July 21, one person was killed in a fatal house fire in Lithonia.
According to police, the incident took place at a home on Berryside Drive. The home was completely engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived at the scene. In fact, fire crews said that the fire was so intense that they feared it could catch homes around it on fire. The second story of the home quickly collapsed.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help. They searched the home and found a body in the debris. The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe trauma caused by the fire.
The area was blocked for some time as fire crews put out the fire.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
