Lithonia, GA – Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-20 Near Evans Mill Rd
Lithonia, GA (December 2, 2021) – At 8 p.m. on the night of Thursday, December 2, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on a highway in Lithonia.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of exit 74, Evans Mill Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, two left lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time. Police urged those in the area to use the Covington Highway as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
