Lithia Springs, GA – School Bus Accident Injures Several Victims on I-20
Lithia Springs, GA (July 29, 2022) – A wreck with injuries involving a school bus took place on a highway in Lithia Springs on Friday afternoon, July 29.
The accident, according to Georgia State Patrol officials, took place on I-20 around the area of the Lee Road exit in the afternoon hours. Police confirmed that a school bus owned by Birmingham day care was involved in a crash with a Honda Civic. The Honda allegedly did not slow down quickly enough, which caused it to slam into the rear of the bus.
Douglas County fire crews and paramedics were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Multiple juveniles on the bus sustained minor injuries and were treated on scene by EMS crews. The driver of the Honda was taken to the hospital with injuries but is expected to recover.
Due to the severity of the accident, multiple lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for some time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
No further details have been released but police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
