Lithia Springs, GA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-20 Near Thornton Rd
Lithia Springs, GA (April 28, 2021) – At 2:50 p.m. on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 28, a multi-vehicle crash with injuries occurred in Lithia Springs.
According to Cobb County officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Thornton Road. Several vehicles collided in the area due to reasons that are not yet known, which led to damages to the involved vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hospitalized as a result of their injuries. Their conditions are not known at this time.
All lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for some time until the area was cleared. Police urged those traveling through to use Highway 78 as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
