Lithia Springs, GA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-20 Near Thornton Rd
Lithia Springs, GA (August 21, 2021) – At 4:40 p.m. on the afternoon of Saturday, August 21, a multi-vehicle crash occurred in Lithia Springs.
According to Cobb County Police, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of exit 44, Thornton Road. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with one another due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the collision were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the crash. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in one or more lanes until police were able to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
