Lithia Springs, GA – Car Accident on I-20 Near Thornton Rd
Lithia Springs, GA (July 3, 2021) – At 6:11 p.m. on the evening of Friday, July 2, a car accident with injuries occurred in Lithia Springs.
According to Douglas County officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Thornton Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling on the highway when they entered the ramp headed onto Thornton Road, striking each other. The vehicles came to a stop facing different directions and had extensive damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured in the collision, though their conditions are not yet known. The victims were immediately hospitalized due to these injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Tow trucks removed involved vehicles from the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
