LaFayette, GA – Severe Injuries Reported in Car Accident on SR-136
LaFayette, GA (October 2, 2022) – Serious injuries were reported in a car accident that took place on a major roadway in LaFayette on Saturday afternoon, October 1.
According to Walker County officials, the accident happened at 3:45 p.m. at 1516 SR-136. Several vehicles were allegedly traveling in the area when they became involved in a multi-vehicle collision due to reasons that are not fully known. The involved vehicles were extensively damaged in the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more parties were trapped in their vehicles and had to be extricated by fire crews. The parties were severely injured and had to be airlifted by medical helicopter to local hospitals. Their current conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
