LaFayette, GA – Rear-End Collision Injures Several at US-27 & W Reed Rd
LaFayette, GA (March 18, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a rear-end collision that took place at an intersection in LaFayette on Friday evening, March 18.
According to local officials, the accident happened at the intersection of US-27 and West Reed Road. Police confirmed that a Chevy Silverado was traveling in the area when the driver started to slow down at the intersection. This is when a Kia Sorento slammed into the rear of a Nissan Rogue due to following too closely and not being able to stop in time. The Rogue then slammed into the back of the Chevy. The involved vehicles sustained severe damages as a result of the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Multiple people sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues. Police will update with more information as it becomes available.
