LaFayette, GA (April 27, 2021) – Around 6 p.m. on Tuesday evening, April 27, a fatal head-on collision occurred at an intersection in LaFayette.

According to Walker County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of US-27 and Wheeler Road. Police confirmed that two vehicles collided head-on with each other near the intersection, leading to extensive damages.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. It is not known if any parties were injured as a result.

All southbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area until police cleared the scene.

No further details have been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
