Kennesaw, GA – Woman Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Wooten Lake Rd
Kennesaw, GA (January 9, 2023) – Around 9 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, January 7, a woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash in Kennesaw.
According to Cobb County Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Wooten Lake Road and Glenlake Parkway. Police confirmed that a 60-year-old woman who lived in the area was walking across the street with her dog at the intersection. She was suddenly struck by a blue BMW 328 that stopped and remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The 60-year-old pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was injured in the accident.
The driver of the BMW, who has since been identified as a 23-year-old man, was not hurt. It is not known if he will be charged for his role in the accident.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked for some time.
No further details have been released at this time. The investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
