Kathleen, GA – Worker Killed in Workplace Accident at Perdue Farm Facility
Kathleen, GA (August 9, 2021) – Around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, August 8, a worker was killed in a workplace accident in Kathleen.
According to Houston County officials, the accident happened in Middle Georgia at a Perdue Farm facility. A worker found a 23-year-old male worker who was bent over in an area working. When the worker touched the man, he felt a shock. It is believed that the worker was cleaning the floor near a machine when he was electrocuted. The clothing that he was wearing was wet.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The worker was immediately rushed to Perry Hospital where he was pronounced dead due to his injuries.
The area was blocked for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
