Justice for Joshua: Fighting for Accountability After a Heartbreaking Loss
At Kenneth S. Nugent, P.C., we are committed to seeking justice for those who have been wronged. Recently, we took on the case of Joshua Armour, a 27-year-old father of two whose tragic death at a Sealy Mattress facility has left his family devastated. This wrongful death lawsuit isn’t just about compensation—it’s about holding those responsible accountable and ensuring no family ever faces this kind of preventable tragedy again.
The Tragic Events That Led to Joshua’s Death
In October, Joshua, experiencing a mental health crisis, wandered onto the property of a Sealy Mattress facility in Conyers, Georgia. Concerned for his safety, his family used phone location data to trace him to the facility. Despite their efforts to alert Sealy staff, the company took actions that ultimately sealed his fate.
Rather than assisting the family in locating Joshua, Sealy employees locked all trailers on the property and denied the family the ability to search for him. Tragically, Joshua’s body was discovered in one of these locked trailers nearly a week later, unable to escape due to the trailer’s internal locks.
A Failure to Protect Human Life
The actions taken by Sealy demonstrated a clear prioritization of property over human life. By failing to take immediate steps to locate and protect Joshua, the company disregarded the desperate pleas of his family and their right to search for their loved one.
This lack of humanity and responsibility is why we at Kenneth S. Nugent, P.C., are fighting hard to hold Sealy Mattress Manufacturing Co. LLC, Tempur-Pedic North America LLC, and Tempur Sealy International Inc. accountable for their negligence.
Why Justice Matters
Joshua Armour was more than a victim. He was a beloved father, fiancé, brother, and son. His life was filled with aspirations of becoming a civil engineer and creating a better future for his family. His fiancée, Jasmine Jennings, described him as “the life of the party, a jokester, and an amazing person.”
At Kenneth S. Nugent, P.C., we fight for families like Joshua’s because every life matters. We believe that no one should endure this kind of preventable loss, and it is our mission to seek justice for those who can no longer speak for themselves.
