Jonesboro, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Upper Riverdale Rd
Jonesboro, GA (July 5, 2021) – On Monday morning, July 5, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash in Jonesboro.
According to Clayton County deputies, the accident happened at the intersection of Upper Riverdale Road and Tara Boulevard. A man was walking in the area when he attempted to cross the street and was suddenly struck by a vehicle.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately called to the scene. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. It is not known if anybody in the vehicle was injured.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time. Police cleared the scene within several hours.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
