Jonesboro, GA – Child Killed in Pedestrian Crash at Noahs Ark Rd
Jonesboro, GA (July 23, 2021) – Around 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning, a child was killed and a man was seriously injured in a Jonesboro pedestrian crash.
According to Clayton County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Noahs Ark Road and Floyd Road. A 12-year-old boy who lived in a group home nearly was walking with his caregiver in the area. The 12-year-old boy got away from him but both the boy and caregiver were struck by a white SUV driving in the area.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help. The 12-year-old boy was rushed to a local hospital with severe injuries but he was pronounced dead while there. The caregiver was hospitalized with injuries, though his condition is not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
