Jackson, GA – Medical Helicopter Present After Car Crash in SB Lanes of I-75
Jackson, GA (April 26, 2022) – Serious injuries stemmed from a car accident that took place on a Jackson highway on Tuesday evening, April 26.
According to Monroe County officials, the accident happened around 5:42 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-75 around the area of exit 198, High Falls Road. Three or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to unknown reasons. Several of the vehicles were seen off the side of the road with heavy damage.
Paramedics, fire crews, and other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained serious injuries in the collision. The injured parties were rushed to the hospital by medical helicopters and ground ambulances.
Due to the severity of the collision, a red alert was issued and all lanes of traffic were blocked for some time. Police urged those in the area to use Highway 19 or Highway 42 as alternate routes.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time. Police will update with more information as it is available.
