Houston Co, GA – Injuries Reported in Tractor-Trailer Collision on I-75 at S Perry Pkwy
Houston Co, GA (August 13, 2021) – Around 10:00 p.m. on Friday evening, August 13, serious injuries were reported after a tractor-trailer accident occurred on a busy highway in the Houston County area.
Authorities say that the incident occurred on Interstate 75 after a truck crashed, causing several secondary collisions near the South Perry Parkway exit.
Delays in the northbound lanes stretched back several miles before exit 134. It wasn’t immediately clear whether the drivers involved were cited, and further details about the other drivers who crashed have not been released.
Paramedics and fire rescue units were photographed at the scene but the number of total victims involved is still unclear. The right two lanes were blocked for several hours while officers conducted the on-scene portion of their investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing at this time, however.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
Truck Accidents in Houston County
Truck accidents are some of the most severe, catastrophic incidents on Georgia roads due to the fact that trucks are some of the largest vehicles on our roads. In just one recent year’s time throughout the United States, more than 110,000 people were seriously injured as a result of truck accidents.
Typically, truck drivers are some of the safest drivers on our roads, but they or their heavy-duty equipment still cause many accidents each year. Mistakes happen in the blink of an eye.
Whether a truck crash is caused by brake failure, driver error, DUI, tight deadlines, or faulty equipment, big-rigs present a unique risk and danger to many motorists on the road. Not only can these accidents involving truck tires and other debris cause serious damage to other vehicles, but they are also responsible for a large portion of motor vehicle fatalities overall.
If you have suffered injuries due to a truck accident, you have options and should seek the immediate help of an attorney.
Being injured in a Houston County truck accident might be one of the most challenging things that you have ever endured. Because truck drivers spend a long period of time on our roads, they are more likely to fall asleep at the wheel or drive distracted, leading to devastating collisions and critical injuries. For example, when a truck driver loses control and causes an accident, their tractor-trailer may collide with numerous other passenger vehicles, forcing them off of the highway as well.
Thankfully, injured victims and their families can seek the immediate help of a personal injury attorney in Houston County, Georgia.
