Holly Springs, GA (June 9, 2021) – At 7:27 p.m. on the night of Tuesday, June 8, a car accident with injuries occurred on a highway in Holly Springs.

According to Cherokee County authorities, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-575 around the area of Sixes Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling on the highway in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not fully known. This led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

One lane of traffic was blocked in the area for some time.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
