Hephzibah, GA – Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Windsor Spring Rd
Hephzibah, GA (November 22, 2021) – At 11 a.m. on Monday morning, November 22, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred on a roadway in Hephzibah.
According to local officials, the accident happened at 4600 Windsor Spring Road near Diamond Lakes Regional Park. A pedestrian was walking in the area when they were struck by a passenger vehicle that was traveling in the area. It is believed that the vehicle remained at the scene of the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help. The pedestrian was rushed to Augusta University Hospital. The victim was pronounced dead there around 11:39 a.m. She has since been identified as a local 42-year-old woman.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for several hours as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
