Helen, GA – Woman Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on GA-75
Helen, GA (June 1, 2021) – On Saturday, May 29, a woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on a roadway in Helen.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened on GA-75. A 63-year-old Gainesville woman was walking across the street when she was suddenly struck and killed by a vehicle. The Nissan Frontier that struck her was traveling north and tried to avoid her. However, as the woman tried to dart out of the way, she was hit. The Nissan then spun out of control and ended up on the side of the road.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. She is not facing any charges at this time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
