Hamilton, GA – Hit-and-Run Collision Leads to Injuries on I-27
Hamilton, GA (June 27, 2021) – At 2:30 p.m. on the afternoon of Sunday, June 27, a hit-and-run collision with injuries occurred in Hamilton.
According to Georgia State officials, the accident happened on I-27. A driver stole a vehicle in the area and was traveling at a high rate of speed when they struck one or more vehicles in the area. The driver of the stolen vehicle then fled the scene, leaving the other damaged vehicles behind.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured in the hit-and-run and taken to the hospital for treatment.
The driver of the stolen vehicle did not return to the scene and police have not said if they have yet been captured.
Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was blocked for a period of time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident continues.
