Hall Co, GA (June 18, 2021) – On Wednesday evening, June 16, a train accident left one man dead in Hall County.

Authorities say that the man was killed when he was struck by a train just off the Atlanta Highway near Ray Street.

Deputies with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, rescue units with Hall County Fire Services, and the Gainesville Fire Department sent personnel to the scene around 8:00 p.m.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Derreck Booth said that the body of the man, identified only as a 33-year-old from Lula, was found behind a business in the area where he was hit by the train.

The events leading up to the accident are unclear, but police are working with the railroad authority to investigate the incident.
