Gwinnett County, GA – Serious Crash With Injuries Shuts Down I-85 SB Lanes

Gwinnett County, GA (March 23, 2023) All lanes of Interstate 85 south in Gwinnett County were closed down early Wednesday morning due to an accident.

The incident occurred near Hamilton Mill Road, and Gwinnett County police were present at the scene along with nearly 12 patrol cars, as seen on Georgia Department of Transportation cameras.

Authorities have reported serious injuries, but have not disclosed the number of drivers or cars involved.

Although one right lane was opened shortly before 11 a.m, it was not until 12:30 p.m that the interstate fully reopened.
