Guyton, GA – Serious Bicycle Collision at Sandhill Rd & Elm St Intersection
Guyton, GA (December 13, 2022) – Around 6 p.m. on the evening of Sunday night, December 11, a serious bicycle crash took place at a Guyton intersection.
According to Effingham County Sheriff’s Office deputies, the accident happened on Sandhill Road near the intersection with Elm Street. Police confirmed that a bicyclist was traveling in the area when they were suddenly struck by a driver inside a pickup truck. The driver of the truck pulled over on the side of the road and waited for police following the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need after the accident. The bicyclist, who has not yet been formally identified, sustained serious injuries in the accident. They were rushed to the hospital for treatment, though their condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection where the accident occurred. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
