Gordon, GA – Tractor-Trailer Collision with Injuries on GA-540
Gordon, GA (September 12, 2022) – On Monday morning, September 12, a tractor-trailer collision with injuries took place on a major roadway in Gordon.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened at GA-540 around the area of Highway 57. A tractor-trailer was headed south in the area when the driver allegedly ran a stop sign at the intersection, colliding with a log truck. This caused the log truck to overturn, when it became struck on the tractor-trailer. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to assist those in need. The driver of the log truck, who has not yet been identified, was taken to a hospital in Macon for treatment of injuries. He is expected to recover from these injuries.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes in the area of the accident for some time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
