Gainesville, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Pearl Nix Pkwy
Gainesville, GA (March 1, 2022) – A man was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash that took place at an intersection in Gainesville on Monday evening, February 28.
Gainesville Police confirmed that the collision happened at 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Pearl Nix Parkway and Atlanta Highway. An adult male was walking in the area when he started to cross the street at the intersection. He was suddenly struck by an SUV that was traveling through the intersection. It is believed that the driver of the SUV remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was rushed to Northeast Georgia Medical Center due to severe injuries. He was tragically pronounced dead while there.
Due to the severity of the collision, the intersection was blocked in the area for some time. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.
Gainesville Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
