Gainesville, GA (August 14, 2021) – On Saturday morning, August 14, a house fire occurred in a home in Gainesville.

According to Hall County officials, the incident took place at a home located at 4800 J. Martin Road. Fire crews were dispatched to the scene in the early morning hours and did not have the fire under control until approximately 5 a.m. The residence was completely destroyed by the fire, displacing one person from the home.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. One firefighter received a leg injury and was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. The other injured firefighter suffered from heat exhaustion and was treated at the scene. They are expected to receive full recoveries.

The area was blocked for several hours as fire crews got the fire under control.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
