Gainesville, GA (November 11, 2021) – On Wednesday afternoon, November 10, a fatal pedestrian crash took place in Gainesville.

According to authorities, the accident happened on the tracks around the area of GA-60 and Queen City Parkway Bridge. Hall County officials confirmed that a 42-year-old man from Albany was walking in the area when he was suddenly stuck by a train underneath the bridge. The train immediately came to a stop after the collision.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was severely injured in the accident. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The roadway and tracks were blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
