Gainesville, GA – Car Accident at Browns Bridge Rd & Whiporwill Dr
Gainesville, GA (August 9, 2021) – On Monday, August 9, a car accident with injuries occurred at an intersection in Gainesville that led to injuries.
According to local officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Browns Bridge Road and Whiporwill Drive around the area of the Lake Lanier bridge. Two vehicles collided head-on after entering the intersection at the same time. One of the sedans sustained extensive front-end damage while the other vehicle was completely destroyed. Both vehicles had to be removed from the scene by tow trucks.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The drivers of both vehicles, who have not yet been identified, were both injured in the accident. The injured victims were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
