Fulton Co, GA – Police Investigating Injury Car Crash on I-85 at SR 179
Fulton Co, GA (July 18, 2021) – Officers with the Fulton County Police Department say that several injuries were reported after a car crash that took place on Interstate 85 on Sunday evening, July 18.
According to information released by Gwinnett County authorities, the accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 85, also known as the GA 140, around the State Route 179 exit. The accident involved at least two vehicles and led to serious damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident. At least two victims were injured as a result of the accident and were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries, though updates on their conditions have not been provided.
Almost all lanes of traffic on I-85 were blocked for at least two hours following the accident. No further details have been released but the investigation continues at this time.
